pink and white rose bouquet

paper hearts for 1st anniversary bouquet

2nd October 2018

Nathan wished to give his wife a replica of her wedding bouquet for their 1st anniversary, so he sent me some photos and work began!

Included in the beautiful fresh flower bouquet (photo on the left) were small heart pins in some of the roses. Nathan’s wife had tried drying the bouquet but it hadn’t been a great success and it had ended up in the shed! But this did allow Nathan to remove the pins and send them to me undetected and I was able to add them to the silk roses (centre photo).

I then made some paper heart pins to add to the other roses, a nod towards their paper anniversary (pictured right).

Nathan sent me a quick note after their anniversary - ‘The bouquet is lovely and was greatly received by my wife. She was really surprised and amazed how much it looked like the original. Thank you So much for doing it.’

Thank you Nathan and I hope your wife will enjoy her bouquet for many anniversaries to come! :)

purple and white teardrop bouquet

silk wedding flowers for delivery a year before the wedding!

21th September 2018

A very belated congratulations to Megan and Martin!

Megan contacted me 18 months before their wedding day. They were getting married at the end of July the following year but as they are both teachers were trying to get as much of the wedding planned as early as possible because the summer term is a very busy time for them.

Megan’s first comments to me - “… I’d really like them to be silk so that I and the wedding party can keep them as a souvenir of the day. … I've looked at your website and love your designs, it would be amazing to have your flowers at my wedding!”

They also wanted the flowers in plenty of time so they could use them as a colour pallet for the rest of the wedding as they started to get everything organised.

On receiving photos of the bouquets and buttonholes Megan said - “The flowers are absolutely perfect. My partner and I are grinning from ear to ear looking at the pictures!!! Thank you so much! You are so talented!” And on receiving the parcels - “They are in perfect condition. I had a look at all of them and then packed them away again very carefully.”

Thank you for all your lovely comments Megan and I look forward to seeing your photos in due course.

On receiving the bouquet they said - "Our bouquet is absolutely stunning, thank you, and it has brought smiles to our faces! We had a wonderful anniversary, thank you :-)"

Thank you to you both and I hope you will enjoy the bouquet for many years to come.

plum, pale-purple, pink and white shower bouquet

silk bouquets for a wedding in sunny Italy

7th September 2018

Congratulations to Lizzie and Richie who enjoyed a beautiful wedding in Sorrento, Italy last month.

Lizzie chose plum, dusky purple and pink flowers to match her bridesmaid’s dresses and lots of trailing ivy to complement the lush surroundings of their wedding venue.

Richie and his gentlemen wore plum anemone buttonholes and their mothers had white anemone corsages.

Lizzie and her mother saw the bouquets and buttonholes for the first time way back in February when she went for a dress fitting and held her bouquet with the dress. Later she said - “Oh thank you so much! We loved the flowers! They are better than I ever expected them to be so thank you.” And after their wedding - “They looked amazing on the day!”

Silk flower bouquets are ideal if you are getting married abroad; no worries about ordering expensive flowers through your venue and then the uncertainty of what they will look like, and of course you can’t bring your fresh flower bouquet home with you. But a silk bouquet will look beautiful on the day - even if it’s really hot - and be a lovely keepsake of your wonderful wedding, forever!

pink orchid, calla liliy and rose bouquet

contemporary replica bouquet for silk anniversary

26th July 2018

Another thoughtful husband! Ian commissioned a replica of his wife’s wedding bouquet as a present for their silk wedding anniversary.

The photo on the left is the original fresh flower bouquet, in the centre the silk flower replica and on the right the replica back showing the bow detail.

The bouquet contains pink cymbidium orchids, calla lilies and roses, with sprigs of trailing leaves and curled grasses.

Ian’s wife, Louise, sent a lovely message after she received the gift bouquet - “My husband surprises me each year with his unique and carefully thought out anniversary gifts, which are always inline with tradition and our wedding theme.  This year being our 12th he came up with the idea of a silk replica of my wedding bouquet.  With this in mind he contacted a very talented lady, exchanged a few emails and photos and hey presto Sharon was able to produce an exact replica of my wedding bouquet.  I am over the moon with the quality and finer detail.  I would not hesitate in recommending this company.”

Thank you so much Louise and I hope you enjoy the bouquet for years to come.

pink rose and ivory hydrangea bouquets ivory rose buttonhole and corsage

summery soft pinks and ivory bouquets

13th June 2018

Congratulations to Melissa and Chris!

Melissa’s beautiful bouquet contains small pink roses, pale pink roses, peonies and Physostegia, ivory Hydrangea, and Eucalyptus leaves.

It was decided as Melissa’s adult bridesmaid’s dress was pink her bouquet should just contain the paler pink roses and ivory Hydrangea. But as Melissa’s flower girl’s dress was ivory her bouquet should include the small pink roses.

The gentlemen’s buttonholes were single roses and Eucalyptus leaves, with Chris’ having an extra rose bud. Their mothers had matching corsages containing all the flowers from the bouquets.

The roses, Hydrangea and Eucalyptus in the bouquets were chosen to match the table centres Melissa had selected for their wedding reception.

peach rose and birch cascade bouquet

beautiful peach cascade bouquet

8th June 2018

Congratulations to Emily and Luke!

Being very creative Emily only needed to order her own bouquet as she was making her bridesmaids bouquets and the buttonholes herself!

So using the flowers she had already chosen I designed a cascade bouquet for Emily, including birch leaves to add volume without to much extra expense.

When she received the bouquet Emily very kindly gave me a 5 star review on Facebook - “Absolutely amazing bouquet. I am over the moon and cannot wait until my wedding. So well priced and fabulous communication throughout. Thank you so much!”

The bouquet includes peach cabbage roses, cream roses, peach heath flowers, birch leaves and grasses.

cream and blue wrist corsages and buttonholes

24th May 2018

Congratulations to Brian and Julieanne!

Julieanne chose to have a wrist corsage instead of a bouquet for her wedding to Brian last week in Crete, and the same but smaller for her bridesmaids. Brian and the gentlemen had matching buttonholes.

Julieanne’s comment when she received them - “The flowers are totally stunning I love them, my lovely man loves them, all is seriously beautiful ... exactly what we had in mind.”

Wrist corsages are ideal for a destination wedding, so small and easy to pack into your luggage!

pale pink and white wedding flowers

summer wedding flowers fit for a royal bouquet!

17th May 2018

Beautiful summer wedding flowers, hydrangeas, roses and peonies, ready to be made into bouquets and buttonholes for my June bride.

I wonder if we will see similar flowers on Saturday at the royal wedding?

Traditionally royal brides carry a bouquet of all white flowers. It is wired and very controlled, and often contains scented Lily of the valley and/or Stephanotis.

Meghan’s favourite flowers are said to be Peonies, so I would expect to see them in her bouquet, especially as they are in season. She may go for a more relaxed contemporary hand tied bouquet and include some subtle pastel shades - similar to these silk ones maybe! :)

One tradition that will probably be followed though is to have a sprig of Myrtle in the bouquet from the bush planted by Queen Victoria at Osborne House. Myrtle is a traditional wedding flower symbolising love and fidelity.

One thing is for sure - they won’t be silk flowers. Maybe Meghan would like a replica made! Ha ha!!

lily of the valley and white rose replica bouquet

lily of the valley and white rose replica bouquet

9th May 2018

Cherifa asked if I could possibly make a replica bouquet for her from one old black and white photo? Of course I replied!

The photo was of Cherifa’s cousin holding her Lily of the valley and white Rose bouquet (above left), and Cherifa wanted a replica to give to her on her 50th wedding anniversary.

I was a bit concerned because faux Lily of the valley flowers are actually a little larger than fresh ones (don’t know why!!) but the final bouquet was lovely and Cherifa was very pleased with it - “I have just received the beautiful bouquet. It is simply stunning thank you so much, she will be thrilled.” And after the anniversary - “I wanted to tell you how totally thrilled my cousin was with her bouquet so much so it reduced her to tears.”

Fresh Lily of the valley is a classic and traditional flower to include in bridal bouquets and was carried more recently by Kate Middleton. But it has an extremely short season (just May) which makes it very expensive to buy, and difficult to find at other times of the year. So artificial ones are a really good affordable alternative and scent can be added to enhance the realism. Also fresh ones are poisonous! So all round faux Lily of the valley is the answer :)

brides-to-be say yes to Pinterest!

4th May 2018

My mini survey of brides-to-be at a recent local wedding fair brought mixed results!

I didn’t get the feed back on bouquets that I had hoped for as many of the brides-to-be had only just started their wedding planning journeys and hadn’t considered their bouquets yet.

But those that did comment on silk flowers said being able to keep their bouquet forever as really important to them, and that my flowers were very realistic, which was really good to know.

The one thing that did stand out loud and clear was that Pinterest is the place they all went to for ideas. This didn’t totally surprise me but did give me the incentive to put some work into updating my own account and boards.

It’s still work in progress but I now have single colour boards of my own bouquets etc and a sub-section of wedding ideas in that colour. So now it’s just a case of keeping up the good start and getting lots of lovely images of silk flowers posted for everyone to see :)

yellow, blue and white spring flower trailing bouquet

trailing spring flowers between the April showers

19th April 2018

Congratulations to Minty and Matt!

The sun came out just in time for their wedding at Sherborne Abbey last week, and I was there to take a few snaps and see one of my bouquets in action - which was lovely!

Minty especially wanted daffodils in her bouquet and a sprinkle of blue delphiniums to match Matt's cravat and the bridesmaid's dresses. Also in her beautiful trailing bouquet were yellow freesias, forsythia and trailing variegated ivy.

Stephen commissioned a replica bouquet of his wife’s wedding bouquet as a present for her on their silk wedding anniversary - how clever!

The photo on the left is the original fresh flower bouquet and on the right the silk flower replica.

When I sent photos of the replica to Stephen for his approval he said “Wow! Looks very impressive. I tried it out on the ladies I work with, compared with a photo of the real thing.. and both of them picked yours as the 'real flowers' “ - the best complement I could ever wish for!

And when he presented them to his wife - “She loved it! It's got pride of place in our front room under a wedding photo montage”

unexpected snowy wedding!

Kara and Matt’s wedding at the weekend had the unexpected fun of the chilly white stuff! But the snow didn’t stop them having a wonderful time, and I look forward to sharing their photos in due course. In the meantime here are three photos I took before their flowers were delivered last year. Yes last year! Another bride taking advantage of silk flowers lasting forever and ordering her flowers well in advance.

the joy of faux flowers

28th February 2018

One of the many advantages of faux flowers over fresh is that bouquets and buttonholes can be made well in advance of your wedding day. Lizzie isn't getting married until the summer but was able to see her flowers at the weekend and hold her bouquet when she tried her dress on. "Oh thank you so much! We loved the flowers! They are better than I ever expected them to be, so thank you" - Lizzie emailed later. Now she can relax knowing her flowers are just as she dreamed they would be!

pale lime and teal silk bouquet

tricky teal solved!

3rd January 2018

Happy new year everyone - let’s make it a special one!

Teal is a very popular colour for weddings, but a little tricky where flowers are concerned. Even silk flowers are limited in teal and if you wish to only use realistic coloured flowers in your silk wedding bouquets and buttonholes you will need to include teal through other materials not flowers.

Photographed above is a pale lime silk rose bouquet with grasses, a wire collar and satin covered handle all in teal, and a matching silk buttonhole.
